Cutting tools are used to cut wood into needed shapes and sizes. There are two kinds of woodworking Knives: hand and machine tools. Woodworking knives are used in mass production and mass production. Machine tools are divided into 5 categories: saws, blades, milling cutters, drill bits and tenon holes.
Woodworking saws are used as cutting tools for cutting wood. They include circular saws, band saws, bar saws, chain saws and barrel saws. Circular saws and band saws are most commonly used. When the saw edge is parallel to the grain, it is called longitudinal cutting (cutting), and when the saw edge is vertical to the grain, it is called transverse cutting (cutting). The latter adopts circular serrated shape different from the former, so as to facilitate cutting fiber in transverse cutting.
A flat cutting tool with a cutting edge used for machining or cutting wood. The blades with different parameters are mounted on various machine tools and can be processed in different ways, such as planer cutting, rotary cutting, scraping and shearing. Slicing is used for plane machining, and blades or workpieces generally perform linear motion. Thin wood can be cut by planing and cutting under certain conditions (such as reducing cutting angle). Thin wood is a kind of high quality decorative material. In rotary cutting, the wood rotates around the fixed center, and the blade moves in a continuous straight line towards the center. The wood is cut into strip veneer to produce plywood. Shearing is used for cutting veneers in plywood production.
A woodworking milling cutter has one or more rotary teeth. Through the relative movement of the workpiece and the milling cutter, each cutter tooth intermittently cuts off the allowance of the workpiece. Woodworking milling cutter can be divided into two types: milling cutter with hole and milling cutter with handle. The structure of the set milling cutter has 3 kinds: the integral type, the inserting type and the combined type. Milling cutter is widely used in joinery production to process plane, forming surface, mortise hole, tenon head, slot hole and carving. Compared with the milling cutter used for cutting metal, woodworking milling cutter has larger rake angle and rear angle in order to obtain a sharp edge and reduce cutting resistance. Another characteristic is that the number of cutting teeth is small, which has larger chip space. In addition to tool steel and alloy steel, cemented carbide is widely used in woodworking milling cutters to improve production efficiency and tool life.
A woodworking drill is a rod-shaped or spiral tool with a cutting edge at the end used to process through or blind holes. The difference between woodworking drill and woodworking end mill is that there is no edge on the side. Besides the main cutting edge, the woodworking drill has a sharp cutting edge on the outer edge to cut the woodwork fiber and make the side of the hole smoother.
There are many kinds of special tools for mortise hole processing, such as hollow square chisel, hollow square chisel with drill, chain punch and machine chisel. The end face of the hollow square chisel has a crescent shaped edge to cut out the square angle around the drill hole. The hollow square chisel with drill bit is a tool combined with drill and square chisel, and the drill bit is in the hollow square chisel. Chain eyedrill is a kind of multi-tooth chain cutter with continuous rotation. It is similar to milling or sawing longitudinally when machining tenon holes. When the machine chisel is used to open the hole, the chisel moves upward and downward.
