Cylindrical milling cutter

It is used for machining plane on horizontal milling machine. The cutter teeth are distributed on the circumference of the milling cutter, and are divided into two types: straight teeth and spiral teeth. According to the number of teeth, coarse teeth and fine teeth are divided into two types. The spiral tooth rough tooth milling cutter has few teeth, high tooth strength, large chip space, and is suitable for rough machining; the fine tooth milling cutter is suitable for fine machining.

Face milling cutter

Used in vertical milling machine, end milling machine or gantry milling machine to process plane, there are cutter teeth on the end face and circumference, there are also rough teeth and fine teeth. Its structure has 3 types: integral, toothed and indexable.

End mill

It is used for machining trenches and stepped surfaces, etc. the cutter teeth can not be fed along the axial direction when working on the circumference and end faces. When the end milling cutter passes through the center end teeth, it can be fed axially.

Three face milling cutter

The utility model is used for processing various grooves and stepped surfaces, and two sides and circumference are provided with cutter teeth.

Angle milling cutter

There are two kinds of trenches for milling to a certain angle: single corner and double angle milling cutters.

Saw blade milling cutter

It is used for machining deep grooves and cutting workpieces, with more teeth on the circumference. In order to reduce friction during milling, two side angles of 15 '~1 degrees are on both sides of the cutter teeth. In addition, there are keyway milling cutters, dovetail slot milling cutters, T slot milling cutters and various form milling cutters.

Integral welding tooth type

The cutter teeth are made of cemented carbide or other wear-resistant tool materials, and are brazed to the cutter body.

Inlaid type

The cutter teeth are fastened to the cutter body by means of mechanical clamping. The exchangeable cutter tooth can be the cutter head of the whole tool material, or the cutter head of welding tool material. The milling cutter with the cutter head mounted on the cutter body is called in vivo grinding type, and the cutter head grinding alone on the clamp is called in vitro grinding type.

Sharp tooth milling cutter

A narrow edge band is grinded on the rearview surface to form the rearview angle, and its life is longer because of the reasonable cutting angle. The teeth of the sharp teeth milling cutter have 3 forms: straight line, curve and broken line. The straight tooth back is often used for finishing the milling cutter of fine teeth. The curved and folded back teeth have better strength and can bear heavy cutting load. They are often used in rough tooth milling cutters.

Shovel cutter

The back of Archimedes helix is produced by shovel cutting (or shovel grinding). The milling cutter is blunt and only needs to grind the front. It can keep the original tooth shape unchanged. It is used to manufacture various shaped milling cutters such as gear milling cutters.

4 main uses

They are generally divided into:

1. flat end milling cutter, rough milling, remove a large number of blank, small area horizontal plane or contour fine milling.


2. Ball-end milling cutter, surface semi-finish milling and finish milling; small ball-end milling cutter can finish milling steep surface / straight wall chamfer and irregular contour.

3. Flat-end milling cutter with chamfer, can do rough milling to remove a large number of blanks, but also fine surface (relative to steep surface) small chamfer.

4. forming milling cutters, including chamfering knives, T milling cutters or drum shaped knives, toothed knives, R knives.

5. chamfering cutter, chamfering cutter has the same shape and chamfer shape, and is divided into milling chamfer and chamfering cutter.

6.T knife, milling T groove.

7. tooth type cutter, milling various tooth types, such as gears.
